The moment Quinn sucked the head Daniel woke up.

  *****

Daniel felt something wet, something amazing, glorious. But nothing could ever beat when he opened his eyes and saw Quinn with her perfect lips around the head of his cock.

“Quinn,” he whispered her name, lifting his fingers to touch her cheek. She sucked again and his eyes closed for a few seconds from the pleasure. Then, he saw her licking his length with her tongue, wrapping her mouth around his burning flesh. “Oh, baby,” he moaned, giving her words of encouragement to continue—not that she needed it. She was driving him crazy. “I need to be inside you.” Daniel could already feel he was coming close; he wanted to be inside her, giving her what she was giving him.

She didn’t stop, though. Quinn actually began to pump him harder, sucking him deeper while his hips moved on its own. She was punishing him, Daniel realized, for stopping right before her orgasm hit last night. He could have laughed, but he was already there, stiffening, climaxing on her wet mouth. He’d never felt anything so good in his life, except, of course, the moment he was buried deep inside her.

Daniel watched as his cock slipped from her mouth and saw her swallowing every drop of his desire. As Quinn ran a path of kisses from his stomach to his chest, Daniel slid his hands down her shirt, where he cupped her breasts. This time, he took her shirt off, leaving her completely naked above him. Quinn kissed his lips as she straddled his waist, rubbing her wetness on his cock that began to harden once again.

His hands rested on her hips, bringing her harder against him. Daniel then slowly slipped his hand between them, grabbing his length and guiding himself into her warmth. Quinn slowly lowered herself into him and they both moaned when he penetrated her. She began to move her hips while her palms rested on his chest as his own hands traveled over her body. He cupped her breasts, caressed her skin with his fingertips while she rode and moaned in pleasure.

Lowering her body, Daniel leaned to her breasts that appeared before his eyes and his mouth closed around her nipple. Her groans sounded deep into her throat. His cock burned inside her as Quinn rode him harder and deeper. His hands slid to her back, lowering her body even more when Daniel began to move his hips faster inside her. Their gazes met and they kissed while he continued to touch her back and sensitive skin.

His hand dropped to her stomach when the kiss ended and he went to taste her nipples again. Daniel sat, kissed her chest and rolled their bodies until she was beneath him. His mouth crushed into her as her arm wrapped around his neck and his hand slipped to her bottom. Daniel moved while they kissed and moaned into each other’s mouths. Her hand then went to his back while another felt his chest, scratching him with her nails. They played with their tongues when Quinn brought her knees to her chest and her ankles rested on the small of his back. The pleasure was intense and beautiful.

They kissed deeply when Daniel began to thrust faster, deeper and harder. Quinn’s legs fell and wrapped around his hips while he heard her long and intense moans into his mouth. It was passionate and sweet, nerve-wracking amazing. His balls began to tighten when he could feel her walls closing around him.

“Oh my God,” she gasped while he thrust.

He exploded when she clenched around him, the pleasure taking him hostage, making him feel wonderful things.

Their fun was over when Quinn’s cellphone rang. “You don’t work today, do you?” he asked, afraid to hear her answer.

“It’s Sunday. No one works on Sundays,” she said while reaching up to grab her phone beside the bed. “Except, maybe, the police.” Daniel saw her surprised face, stunning her, making all the fear coming back. He wanted to reassure her, but before he could, she was already answering the call. “Hello,” she said, gazing in Daniel’s eyes. He caressed her skin, putting down some of the worry in her expressions. “Yes… Sure… Okay.”

The call ended. “What did they want?”

“They want us to try to identify the man who shot at us,” she answered, already getting up and opening her bag to grab a change of clothes. Daniel watched her getting dressed, her expression anxious.

He left the bed, reached for her and crushed her back to his chest. He slid her hair from her neck, and then leaned in and kissed her there. “I’m right here,” he whispered into her ear.

At the police station, everything was very brief after Quinn identified Tom Barton, a man she had helped put away five years before. She wasn’t even the lead lawyer on the case, so she wondered why he came after her. The police said they were doing everything they could to locate the suspect which eased a little the knot in her stomach. But even so, Tom’s face would be forever imprinted in her memory. He was in his late thirties, had brown hair and green eyes. In his mug shot his eyes transmitted that he was a very angry man, one that certainly hold grudges against people.

Daniel was her rock at the station, always touching her, comforting her. Quinn didn’t know what would have become of her if he wasn’t in her life. Probably dead.

There was silence on the ride home, but Daniel’s hand never slipped from hers. Quinn wanted to stop by a restaurant to have lunch, but then again it could be dangerous, especially since Tom had already opened fire right in the open. They ordered takeout instead.

Like normal couples, Quinn and Daniel watched TV during the whole afternoon glued to each other. They hadn’t talked about their current relationship, but Quinn didn’t want to label anything and mess it up.

When the clock marked 10:00 p.m. and they’d eaten dinner, they went to bed. The moment Quinn’s head hit the pillow and she felt Daniel’s arms around her, she fell asleep. She was awakened a few hours later when she heard strange noises coming from Daniel’s mouth. She turned the lamp’s low light beside her and turned to see what was happening to him. A gasp tore from her throat when she saw that he was sweating, groaning and shaking as though in pain. He was having a nightmare.

Not knowing what else to do, she tried to wake him up by calling his name and shaking his shoulders. It was the wrong thing to do. The moment Quinn touched him Daniel screamed and jumped at her. He grabbed her arms, rolled their bodies and pined her with his weight.

He held her arms above her head, keeping her from moving. “Daniel, it’s me, Quinn,” she said while she watched him struggle still asleep. “Dan, it’s Quinn,” she yelled. “It’s Quinn. It’s me, you’re safe.”

  *****

Someone was calling his name, someone very important. His mind was trapped while chaos replayed in front of his eyes. Gunshots and bombs. Screams and more screams. But he knew the voice he heard didn’t belong there.

Quinn. He heard her calling for him.

He tried to come back, but wasn’t able to. Then, she called him Dan and his heart jumped. She had never called him Dan before.

  It’s Quinn. It’s me, you’re safe.

Daniel opened his eyes, finding the woman who had called him breathing so hard beneath him that it almost broke his heart. Ashamed of himself, he loosened his grip on her wrists that he held above her head. He watched as she slowly lowered them, only to rise again to find his face.

“Are you okay, baby?” she asked, worry showing deep in her expression. He couldn’t believe she was asking him that when he was the one who'd scared her.

He nodded. “God, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”

She shook her head. “You would never hurt me.”

How hopeful she sounded. “I would never hurt you on purpose, but I was having a nightmare, Quinn. I could have hurt you.” Daniel’s voice shook.

“Even then, you wouldn’t have,” she whispered, sounding so sure of herself that he even believed it for a moment.

  “How can you be sure?”

“Because I know, I just know,” she said, kissing his lips delicately.

When Daniel made a move to get up, Quinn didn’t let him leave, she kissed him harder. Her hand dropped to inside his boxers, where his erection
began to burn. She began to stroke him, driving him wild with such an unexpected turn. Without being gentle about it, Daniel ripped her panties on one side as he desperately needed to be inside her.

Quinn helped him slide his boxers down his thighs while they kissed .

Ever so slowly he penetrated her, her legs locking around his hips as if they always belonged there. He kissed her briefly.

“What happened?” she asked so innocently that he had to tell her. It scared him for a tiny second since the only person who knew was his psychiatrist.

He began to move, but it was long and slow. “I watched my best friend be blown to pieces when I was on tour in the military.” He saw her expression sadden, and he didn’t like that look on her. Daniel loved to see her radiate with happiness. “And it was my fault.” It was weird for him, to reveal such a deep part of himself as he was buried deep into the woman he cherished.

He kissed her then, his tongue enveloping her own as his hips began to move faster. Daniel’s hand found itself beneath her hair as the other rested on her cheek. Increasing his speed he watched as Quinn’s mouth opened. He stared and watched as she moaned beneath him as he held her in his arms.

“Yes, baby. Yes. Please don’t stop!” He watched her groaned before his eyes, arching her back and exposing her neck, begging him to kiss her there. And he did. Suddenly, he felt free.

Right in that moment, almost reaching orgasm Daniel realized Quinn was the woman of his life. He felt it in his gut. She would be his wife, she would be his until death did them part.

When he saw her screaming from the pleasure he had given her, he let himself go too, but this time it was different. He kissed her while his hips moved forward by itself as his semen invaded her like waves while they stared. That had never happened before, much less three times.

  *****

Daniel leaned in and kissed her forehead. “I’m going to take a shower. I’ll be right back,” he said.

Quinn caught his arms when he made a move to leave the bed. As a result, he fell on top of her. They giggled, the sound invading the entire room, making her feel how perfect everything had been.

“Don’t take too long,” she whispered in his ear.

“I won’t,” he murmured back, kissing her on the lips this time.

The moment he left the bed, Quinn never felt more alone. It was incredible how she felt connected to Daniel, as though they’d met a long time ago, lived together before, and dated before all this. She knew he felt the same way from everything he did to her. Quinn knew that from now they would be inseparable.

When her stomach growled, she left the bed and put some clothes on before heading for the kitchen. Quinn smiled when she started to make a meal for them. She could get used to that. She felt free, happy, satisfied for the first time in her life.

She, of all people, should know that sometimes when everything fell into place something was about to happen.

She thought it was Daniel clearing his throat behind her, but she couldn’t have been more wrong. “Wow, that was fast,” she said, smiling, as she turned. “How-how did you get in here?” Quinn didn’t move, she couldn’t as her body felt like lead or even a statue. Her heart began to beat so hard and fast against her ribs that she thought the man in front of her would hear it.

“Criminal,” Tom said and pointed to himself, as if she had just asked something stupid.

Quinn tried to control her breathing while he gazed at her and then swept his eyes round the living room and kitchen. Quinn felt naked and vulnerable, but she also felt scared, especially because of Daniel. She didn’t want him to get hurt again. She didn’t notice a gun in her assailant’s hand. That was a good thing, Quinn thought, but it didn’t make her feel any better.

“Do you know who I am?” Tom asked, taking a few steps forward, getting closer to her by the second. Her back was glued to the counter. She took long steps toward her right, but it wasn’t enough. Tom was already there, close enough to touch. “Do you?”

“I-I do.” It was hard to breathe, but she managed.

“You sent me to jail.” His hand wrapped around her throat so fast that it was too late to get away from him. “I was innocent.” His hold grew tighter around her windpipe, making it harder and harder to breathe. “I was there for five years!” he yelled right in her face. “You know what they did to me? You know, don’t you? Because you like putting people there.” There were tears running down Tom’s cheeks, and for a moment Quinn even felt sorry for him, but his hold grew harder, crushing all the air from her lungs. “Yeah, I’m gonna kill you and your boyfriend. How’s that?”

Quinn began to see stars as her need to breathe grew. Her nails dug into Tom’s arms, she even tried to take a swing at his face, but she was too weak. Then, when she thought her life was over, Tom stumbled forward and she heard a growl of pain. Her body fell to the floor, air beginning to enter her hungry lungs one more time. It was hard at first since her throat hurt, but she began to breathe desperately.

While she was on the ground, Quinn heard the sounds of a fight taking place. There were moans of pain, objects falling and breaking, screams of revenge and wild footsteps. She knew Daniel must have heard Tom yelling and came directly there. The moment she looked up, she saw them fighting like wild dogs at an arena. Daniel was still wet and he wore only boxers. His entire body was exposed.

When Quinn saw blood staining the left side of his head, she finally took the courage to stand up and run to the bedroom to call the police. With trembling hands, she grabbed her cell phone that rested beside the bed. Sweat pooled in her entire body, she could hardly think, much less touch the numbers on the screen, when she heard a gunshot.

“No, no, no,” she tried saying, but her voice didn’t come out. Her throat hurt like hell, and speaking wasn’t the best idea for her at the moment. But that didn’t stop her from running back to where the men were, trying desperately to find out if her man was alive.

Hungry as she was to know Daniel’s current situation, she didn’t hide, she ran to the living room only to find both of them alive. Daniel tried to grab Tom’s hands that carried a gun. But the moment Tom saw Quinn standing right where he could reach her, he pointed the gun at her and another gunshot sounded.

“No!” Daniel shouted, pulling Tom’s hands in another direction.

Quinn ducked as her cell phone dropped from her hand. When she lifted her head, she saw a bullet on the far wall just a few inches from where she’d stood. Returning her attention to them, she saw Daniel disarm Tom, the gun fell and slid to her feet. Without thinking twice, she reached for the firearm and tried to point it at Tom, but they wouldn’t stop hitting each other.

Her hand shook, but with a few long breaths in and out, she was able to control her breathing, her thudding heart and the shaking. She noticed Daniel looking at her for a brief second, but it was enough for him to fake a knockout and fall to the floor. Quinn saw Tom coming for him with a crazy look on his eyes; that was enough for her to pull the trigger. She aimed for his chest, but hit his shoulder.

Writhing in pain, he fell to his knees, holding his bloodied injury. When his eyes met hers, his eyes fumed with anger, but before he could do anything about it, Daniel kicked him hard in the face. Tom’s body fell to the ground, unconscious.

Sighing with relief, Quinn was able to lower the gun.

“Quinn,” Daniel said and hurried to her side. His hands wrapped around her body, as though searching for injuries. The look on his face while bleeding because of her did things to her heart. “Are you okay? Are you hurt?”

“I’m-I’m fine,” her voice didn’t sound as her own, it was foreign. It hurt to speak, but she did it anyway. If she noticed it, he certainly did it too.

His gaze dropped to her throat, where his hands started to check out the damage. “Oh, baby.”

“I’ll heal, it’s nothing,” she said, tears beginning to stream down her cheeks. “I’m so glad you’re okay.” Quinn wrapped her arms around his neck and
kissed him passionately.

The next few moments were all about the police and what had happened in that apartment. Quinn and Daniel explained everything the best they could as Tom’s unconscious body was rushed to the hospital.

  Three Months Later

Quinn sat on a parking bench while Daniel knelt on the ground, holding a ring in her direction. His grin covered his entire face, showing her his happiness as she tried not to cry.

The sun shone, the sky was the most beautiful of blues and the weather was hot and intense, just as Quinn felt inside. Everyone that passed by them smiled while others whistled and cheered.

Quinn thought about how their relationship was stronger than ever and how their love continued to grow by the minute. Less than two months ago they had said “I love you” to each other. How they never stopped living together, loving each other so intensely that she was even scared that the flame would eventually blow out.

She laughed, happy tears running down her cheeks. “Yes, of course I’ll marry you!” she exclaimed, as she threw her arms around his neck. Now finally able to run her fingers through his longer hair. They kissed and she tasted the salt of their tears.

“I love you,” Daniel said as he placed the most gorgeous ring on her finger.
